When Things Click – Cypress Photo Drive 2025

With the explosion of high-grade automotive content on social media, the standard has gone way up. Though with it, the possibilities of what can be done have as well. Everyone wants rolling shots taken of their car – but between hiring a photographer, organizing a camera car, washing your car, and finding the time and place to take the shots, actually making it happen is easier said than done.

Driving back from an event early last year, a couple of us realized we had each been mulling the idea of creating an event specifically to make this happen for our members. Ryan, Shawn, and myself worked together to make this a reality – the turnout was so strong for our first one last year that we decided to do it again.

For this second BMWCCBC Photo Drive, we cruised along Highway 1 from Langley, eventually snaking our way up Cypress Mountain. The latter is arguably the best balance of a fun road and beautiful scenery within the confines of Metro Vancouver. From imposing man-made infrastructure to the untouched green scenery British Columbia is known for, we had a healthy mix of photogenic backdrops along the entire route.

Providing sheer driving pleasure is the natural habitat of any BMW. We tactfully chose this particular route, as it gave us a wide enough berth (literally) for @mattfaminoff and @whosdesignerdon to capture everyone’s cars thriving in their element.

One could be satisfied ending with our picturesque photo session at the peak of Cypress Mountain, but not us! We capped the event easing our group down the mountain, for one final, dramatic, drone-powered photo opp.

And with that, it was finally time to relax.

Nestled in the West Vancouver hillside is Isetta Cafe and Bistro, a hidden gem calling to car enthusiasts and the general public alike. It was the ideal spot for a number of us to meet at afterwards, enjoying the unmatched chill atmosphere and no-compromise food and drink.
