The BMW Car Club of British Columbia recently hosted its Annual General Meeting, where members gathered to reflect on the past year’s achievements and discuss plans for the year ahead.
The club reviewed what turned out to be a very successful year, with a total of twenty events held across the province. Members enjoyed a diverse range of drives and experiences, including the 2025 Auto Show display, the Lytton Canyon Run, the Rolf Drommer Harrison Drive, and the Picture Rally Run.

A hightlight of the year was the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the BMW 3 Series. We brought together examples from every generation—owned by BMWCCBC members—to showcase how the 3 Series evolved from the lightweight 02-series to today’s advanced G20. To mark the milestone, we organized a spirited drive up the Sea-to-Sky Highway, capturing photos and video along the way. This included an ongoing interview series posted to Instagram and Youtube featuring owners and what makes their cars special.

Several photo-shoot drives gave enthusiasts the chance to capture their cars in scenic locations, while the Vancouver Island Tour and the “Loving Canada” Cache Creek and Duffy Lake Loop brought out strong participation. Dancing with Cones events continued to be well attended, although a few HPDE track days had to be cancelled due to lower-than-expected registrations. Despite that, the club’s event calendar remained one of its strongest to date.

The annual Show & Shine, sponsored by Classic Cars at Auto West, was also a standout moment and received an excellent response from members and continues to be a highlight of the calendar year.
Over the past year, the club’s social media presence has improved dramatically, thanks to a consistent and more engaging online strategy. The transition to MotorsportReg was completed as well, making event registration smoother and more efficient. These digital upgrades ensure that members can stay informed and connected with ease.
Membership numbers remain healthy as well. The club now has 168 active members, along with three lifetime members and two founding members. During the meeting, members acknowledged and thanked Richard R. as he stepped down from his role as a director. His contributions over the years were recognized and appreciated by all.
Elections were also held to confirm the Board of Directors for the upcoming term. Members voted unanimously to approve the nominations of Kevin Commerford, Kevin Moroney, Stephen Nemeth, Ryan Smiley, and Herbert Kan, who will serve as directors for the next two years. They join the eight continuing directors currently in the second year of their term: Dave Beddows, David Gray, Shawn Sepehry, Michael Shaw, Richard Shore, Grant Fengstad, Uros Milojevic, and Jim Westmacott.
Another important point of discussion was the club’s membership dues. After reviewing current costs and future needs, the members voted to increase annual dues to $49. The motion received unanimous approval and will help support the club’s operations and events in the coming year.
We look forward to another year of great events, memorable drives, and continued growth within our BMW community.
